EdTechRVA 2018: Keynote Speaker

The EdTechRVA conference is just around the corner!  We look forward to a fun filled day of passionately supporting connected learning.  In addition to the 40 current sessions and an exciting rapid-fire Ignite session, we are excited to celebrate our keynote speaker for this year’s conference, Dr. Gardner Campbell:

Gardner Campbell currently serves as Associate Professor of English at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, where for nearly three years he also served as Vice Provost for Learning Innovation and Student Success and Dean of VCU’s University College. He is an intellectual omnivore, a former radio announcer, a professor (Milton and Renaissance studies, film studies, new media studies—publishing work in all these areas), and a bassist. His essay “The Enfolded Sublime of Incarnate Immortality” will appear in Immortality and the Body in the Age of Milton, published by the Cambridge University Press, in the spring of 2018.

Gardner has worked in teaching and learning technologies for over twenty-five years, nearly fifteen of those (to his great surprise) as an administrator. He’s been a member of numerous advisory boards, and he has served on governing boards of the New Media Consortium (2009-2012 and 2016-1017, twice as chair) and the Doug Engelbart Institute (2017-present). He also speaks frequently at conferences and workshops, both nationally and internationally (Sweden, Canada, Italy, Australia): here are his three most-watched YouTube videos. You can read his blog, “Gardner Writes,” at  www.gardnercampbell.net and find him on Twitter @gardnercampbell.

Lastly, please don’t forget to visit our vendors on the 2nd floor of the conference location! This year’s vendors will include: Camcor, Clinton Learning Solutions, DominionTek, Explore Learning, Virginia Museum of History and Culture and World Book
