On March 6, after months of preparation, the GRAETC team pulled off another fantastic conference. Over 350 attendees from the Central Virginia region and beyond converged at the VCU’s Academic Learning Commons for a day of learning and networking. Offering 40 concurrent sessions, 7 poster sessions, 7 lunchtime ignite sessions, and 7 vendors, this year’s conference was our most successful yet.
Pastries and coffee in the vendor area got the attendees started, followed by an inspiring keynote session delivered by Jason Vest and Robbi Moose, a dynamic team from Hungary Creek Middle School in Henrico. They shared their experiences of making their dream of providing student-centered, hands-on technology education come true through flexibility, creativity, and passion.
This year’s conference was a special celebration marking GRAETC’s 50th year anniversary. Past and present leaders were in attendance, including Jean Weller and Dr. Manorama Talaiver. In the afternoon, we gathered to enjoy 300 cupcakes sponsored by pi-top and wish GRAETC another 50 years of teaching and learning with technology.
