EdTechRVA 2018, It’s a Wrap!

Another successful conference is in the books! 350 excited educators showed up to VCU’s Academic Learning Center for a day packed with learning. We kicked off the day with an inspiring keynote from Dr. Gardner Campbell who reminded us that “learning cannot be managed…it can be fostered and encouraged” and that we should shift educational technology away from just being a tool to an experience! After the keynote, attendees from about 50 school divisions from around the Commonwealth had the opportunity to choose from 44 different sessions focused on how educational technology can be used to enhance instruction and make a positive impact on student learning.

All of our breakout sessions were well attended including the exciting ignite session after lunch. It was great to see the number of first time presenters willing to stand up with courage to share the great things they were doing in their classroom! Sixteen sessions earned a perfect 10 rating! These top 5 sessions received a perfect 10 and the most feedback from participants:

All of this would not have been possible without the hard work and assistance from the GRAETC Team,  Virginia Society for Technology in Education (VSTE), Longwood University’s Institute for Teaching through Technology and Innovative Practices (ITTIP), and Virginia Commonwealth University. We have already begun planning for EdTechRVA 2019. Look for a call for proposals in the fall with registration opening in January. We look forward to seeing you next year, until then follow us @GRAETCorg #EdTechRVA for updates and other valuable PD opportunities!
